FORENSIC DNA WORKSHOP
WEST AFRICA
#WORKSHOP
The Forensic DNA Workshop in Accra,Ghana was the third in our series of DNA for Africa events launched across the African continent, this time for the West Africa Region. Prof. Bruce Budowle once again led the charge and hosted two workshops: an introductory DNA workshop as well as a deep dive into complex forensic DNA topics such as mixtures, interpretations and the presentation of DNA evidence in court. Dr Susan Hitchin, from Interpol joined us on line for a fascinating insight into Interpol's new I-Familia Database and DNA data exchange tools and Mr Yahaya Sumara Sulley, presented his insights into working towards a draft law and policy that can be implemented in West Africa. Once again, the energy in the room was palpable as new connections were made and the DNAforAfrica network expanded even further. We look forward to many more interactions in West Africa! #weareunstoppable #weareDNAforAfrica
