2nd FORENSIC DNAforAFRICA SYMPOSIUM
The Forensic DNA Symposium, East Africa was the second in a series of DNA events launched across the African continent. The first event, held in 2021 in Cape Town, South Africa, provided a platform for in-person panel discussions with live streaming to over 500 virtual attendees from across Southern Africa and beyond.
In 2022, DNAforAfrica together with the ICRC were honoured to bring together respected international and local forensic experts and activists from both the public and private sector, all of whom serve as dedicated change makers in humanitarian forensic action and crime resolution. The 2nd Forensic DNAforAfrica Symposium held in Nairobi, Kenya explored integrated and innovative approaches towards these objectives through discussion of best practices and lessons learned.

SYMPOSIUM 2022
DAY 1 - 22 June 2022
This fabulous Cocktail Event sponsored by the ICRC launched the Symposium and was attended by dignitaries, international agency representatives, representatives of local authorities, participants and guest speakers.
DAY 2 - 23 June 2022
This high level scientific DNA Workshop for experienced forensic practitioners, was led by renowned forensic scientist,
Dr Bruce Budowle, Visiting Professor, Department of Forensic Medicine, University of Helsinki. In person only applicants were honoured to have had the opportunity to personally engage with Dr Budowle throughout the day.
